leisure@cheltenham announces official opening - 31 August 2008

  

   Sunday 31 August will see leisure@cheltenham throw open its doors once again, when people of all ages will be invited to come along and try out free fitness classes and swimming sessions. A full timetable of activities between 10am and 4pm will showcase the improved centre which has been closed for more than a year after severe flood damage.

Throughout August, Cheltenham Borough Council will have a fun-packed programme of sport and play (PDF) activities on offer for youngsters at various locations around the borough.

A pioneering two-month pilot scheme trialling bikes for rent launched in Cheltenham recently.  The pilot, similar to the OYBike scheme, allows people to use their mobile phones to set up an account and get a security code to take one of the bikes.

£63,000 up for grabs               Turning great project ideas into a reality is the aim behind a £63,000 Community Pride fund that's just been launched.  Local organisations are being urged to apply for a share of the money to get their community project ideas off the ground.

Cheltenham Borough Council has launched a new initiative aimed at supporting local businesses. Business Pride
