Civic awards scheme

Each year these awards are made by the Cheltenham Borough Council in association with Cheltenham Civic Society for the encouragement of standards of excellence in the restoration of historic buildings and other works in the field of improvement in Cheltenham's built environment.

 There are four categories of award, as follows:

• The sensitive external restoration of an historic building;
• A well-designed new building, group of buildings, or structure;
• An environmental improvement;
• A well designed or renovated shop front.

The awards ceremony normally takes place during March of the following year.
