Residential care or nursing home resident
The home must be registered with the county council and it is the owners and not the residents of these types of accommodation will be liable for council tax.
The liable person can claim a discount as residents are disregarded when we count the number of adults resident.
The accommodation must be the occupier's sole or main residence and they must be receiving a high level of care or treatment.Pages in Council tax disregards

- 7 Persons in respect of whom child benefit is paid
- 8 Persons in detention

- 11 Full time carer (excluding those caring for husband, wife, partner or child)
