Boathouse is back in business

Following last weekend’s fire, Pittville Park’s popular boathouse will reopen to the public tomorrow (Friday 30 July).
The good news comes just as the school holidays begin.
Rob Bell, assistant director for operations congratulated staff for pulling together their resources and making a great team effort, he said: ''Everyone has worked very quickly so that the boathouse can re-open in time for the holidays. The boathouse is always very popular through the summer so I am delighted that we can once again offer this facility after a short period of closure.''
With a temporary new entrance at the opposite end of the building, local residents and visitors will be able to enjoy boating, golfing, tennis and fishing once again. Ice creams and hot and cold drinks can also be purchased.
Opening hours will be 10.00am - 6.00pm (one hour later than previous) - weather permitting.
