Birth, marriage and death registration is managed by the registration service of Gloucestershire County Council. The registration service also provides civil marriages, civil partnership ceremonies and citizenship ceremonies.
Tell Us Once
This service enables people to inform government services just once of a death. A person registering a death will be given the opportunity to take up the Tell Us Once service by providing some further information which will then be used to notify other government departments and local government services about the death.
The departments receiving notifications include:
- Department of Work and Pensions
- HM Revenue and Customs
- Identity and Passport Service
- Driver Vehicle Licensing Agency
- Council tax
- Housing benefit
- Council housing
- Electoral services
- areas where money is owed to the local authority and some services provided by the county council in Gloucestershire
