| 12 May 2025 | Full Council approved the terms of reference, signifying the start of the review. Visit the meeting page for more information |
| 19 May – 18 July 2025 | Stage one public consultation |
| August – September 2025 | Review by officers and working group and development of draft recommendations |
| 13 October 2025 | Full council approved recommendations for the second round of consultation |
| 24 February - 29 March 2026 | Stage two consultation |
| 22 June to 31 July 2026 | Stage three consultation - Town and parish boundary proposals |
| Late Summer 2026 | Council considers all consultation feedback and draws up final recommendations for full council. |
| September - October 2026 | Further design and engagement, prior to decision |
| 19 October 2026 | Council decision on changes to parish boundaries and creation of a new town council |
| October - December 2026 | Drafting of re-organisation order |
| January 2027 - March 2028 | Shadow town council created to oversee the setting up of new town council and potential transfer of assets |
| 1 April 2028 | Parish boundary changes take effect |
| May 2028 | Parish and town council elections |
