Building Control - How long does building regulation approval last for?

Building Regulations approval lasts for three years. If work starts within three years and then stops, then approval remains indefinitely. If work has not commenced after three years from the date the application was submitted, the application will no longer be valid, as outlined in the Building Act. A notice will be issued direct to the address of the property.
