How long will it take to get my permission?

A notification of works within the Conservation Area (Section 211) can take up to six weeks for the council to issue their decision. If after six weeks you have not heard back from the council (but have received an acknowledgement letter to confirm receipt of your notification) you are entitled to carry out the works notified.

If the council wishes to prevent works or felling to any trees within the conservation area, then a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) will be served to protect the tree(s).

A TPO application is to seek formal permission for works/felling to tree(s) covered by a TPO by the council and it can take up to eight weeks for a decision to be issued.
