6 Month fixed term contract
37 hours per week

About the role…

The main focus of the role will be the maintenance of all cemetery grounds under management of bereavement services.

The position of cemetery operative reports directly to the cemetery grounds supervisor.

The successful candidate will be mainly based at Bouncers Lane Cemetery. You will have good organisational and communication skills. You must be proactive with a positive attitude and customer focussed approach to work. You will be confident, self motivated and a good team player who is keen to learn and able to adapt to the changing needs of the business.

To be successful you will need…

  • To be a proactive team member with a positive attitude and customer focussed approach to work
  • The ability to undertake all grass care and grounds maintenance operations
  • The ability to communicate with the bereaved in a calm, polite and sympathetic matter
  • The ability to work under pressure and within restricted timescales
  • Be able to work outside in all weathers
