Nominations for the community awards

We have been overwhelmed with the positive response to the coronavirus pandemic by individuals, community groups, businesses and young people. The Mayor of Cheltenham has decided to celebrate these achievements by introducing the Mayor’s community awards.
There will be three general awards and one youth award.
Please read the criteria for nominations below and then use our online form to make your nomination. Alternatively you can download a PDF version of the nomination form.
The deadline for nominations is Monday 12 April 2021.
General award criteria (individual, community organisation, business)
- The nominee must have a close link to Cheltenham, living and/or working
- The nominee must live, work or be in education within Cheltenham Borough
- The nominee must have given something over and above their day job
- The nominee must have contributed in one or more of the following:
- Supported the most vulnerable members of society and those who have caught coronavirus
- Developed innovations to support those that were made vulnerable by coronavirus
- Gone to extraordinary lengths to keep critical services going
- Volunteered in the community or for service organisations in support of those affected by coronavirus
Youth award criteria
- The nominee can be up to the age of 18 by the closing date
- The nominee must live, work or be in education within Cheltenham Borough
- The nominee must have given something over and above their day job
- The nominee must have contributed in one or more of the following:
- Supported the most vulnerable members of society and those who have caught coronavirus
- Developed innovations to support those that were made vulnerable by coronavirus
- Volunteered in the community or for service organisations in support of those affected by coronavirus
Parental or guardian consent must be sought before nominating.
