£30k funding available to support community projects

Community groups across Cheltenham are being invited to apply for a share of £30,000 through the Community Pride fund.

The fund is designed to support community-led initiatives that strengthen neighbourhoods, celebrate Cheltenham’s diverse communities and build pride in our town.

Grants of up to £2,000 per project are available on a match‑funding basis, meaning the council will cover up to 50% of the total project costs with groups asked to contribute the remainder, which can include in-kind contributions of volunteer time and resources.

The project must meet at least one of the following themes:

Connecting people and celebrating Cheltenham’s culture and diversity
Improving biodiversity and enhancing green spaces
Supporting children and helping their families thrive
Improving community safety in the physical world and online
Promoting physical and mental wellbeing.

Councillor Jamie Jamieson, cabinet member for safety and communities, said: “The Community Pride fund is a great opportunity for community groups in Cheltenham to deliver local projects that make a real difference in their communities. In 2025, 22 projects were supported through this fund and it is really encouraging to see the impact that they have.”

The deadline for applications is 10am on Thursday 10 September 2026.
