Waste and recycling collections continue

Cheltenham's waste and recycling collections continue to get back to normal.

Ubico (the council’s waste service provider) staff continue to work hard to clear the back-log, in addition to carrying out the usual scheduled collections.

Beth Boughton, Ubico’s waste and recycling manager said: ‘'Once the crews have finished their normal collection rounds, they will be returning to areas which were missed and clearing as much as possible, although we don’t expect to clear the full back-log until later this week.

‘’Crews have banked their hours and will be using these to undertake the catch up collections. We appreciate people’s patience and hope that things will get back to normal very soon.’’

Communal bins

Crews will carry on prioritising the collection of communal bins in flats and houses in multiple occupation.

Normal scheduled collection

Normal scheduled collections continue.  Residents can check their scheduled collection days on the council's website or by calling 01242 262626.

Example 1

This week, if you are due a waste collection, you can leave out any additional side waste due to your missed collection (which would have occurred between 18 and 25 January).  This extra refuse should be put into bin-bags and left next to the wheeled bin.

Example 2

This week, if you are due a recycling collection, you may present extra recycling materials in containers or boxes due to your missed collection (between 18 and 25 January).
