Cheltenham secures funding for families
Published on 8th May 2014
Cheltenham BC and partners from the Cheltenham Inspiring Families project have secured funding to stage social events for families in the local area, the first of which will be a coffee morning.
Along with 123 other areas within the country, Cheltenham was accepted as an area for investment. The first event to happen under the new funding will be a coffee morning at Matchams bar at the Everyman Theatre, from 11am - 1.00pm on 19 May.
Families will be given the opportunity to talk about issues that effect them, such as health, services and experiences. The session will also be an opportunity to build new support networks.
Bernice Thomson from Cheltenham West End Partnership, which is one of the Our Place partners, said: “This project is great because it will give us the opportunity to tap into the skills and knowledge of people who have experienced and overcome problems so that they can support others who are going through similar situations. With constant reductions in public services this will greatly enhance support services in Cheltenham. I’m really pleased to be part of this project.”
The event is open to all families living anywhere in Cheltenham, and will receive a hot drink and cake on arrival.
If families would like to attend they can register interest through the Inspiring Families Facebook page, Twitter, or email: email@example.com.
