The event is open to drop in to from 12-4pm both days and will feature a range of family friendly stalls, exhibits and information by organisations and projects that give a focus to LGBT+.

There will also be a series of interactive workshops over the weekend, each 45 minutes long. You can book on to the free workshops by signing up on the day or at identitychelt.eventbrite.co.uk

Organisations involved include: Gloucestershire Gay & Lesbian Community (GGLC), GAY-GLOS, Victim Support, 2Gether Trust, NHS Hope House, University of Gloucestershire and the Cheltenham Trust, of which the Wilson is a part.

Cllr Flo Clucas, cabinet member for healthy lifestyles said: “The Identity event will be a chance to explore what it means to identify as LGBT+ in the past and present and how we want the future to look.”

Matt Wester, President for LGBT+ Society at the University of Gloucestershire says, "'Identity' is a way of giving something to the community that provides more transparency and awareness regarding those that identify at LGBT+. It's about opening doors to give LGBT+ History Month greater presence and understanding in and around Cheltenham, at the exact time it needs to be talked about."
