The organisers of Paws in the Park have taken the difficult decision to postpone the event on Sunday 5 August due to the weather warning issued by the met office for heavy thundery showers tomorrow.

With the amount of rain forecast, Burrows Playing Field is likely to flood making it difficult for vehicles and organisers to access the park.

Janice Payne, community ranger: “We are very sorry that we have had to postpone Paws in the Park. We really want people to enjoy themselves on the day and the rain will affect this. There’s nothing worse than a wet dog!

The disappointing weather this summer has affected so many events, but we are determined to reschedule this popular day out. Next week we will discuss new dates and let everyone know as soon as possible. However, it is likely to be sometime in September.”
