The council is the local planning authority for Cheltenham. It regulates and controls new development throughout the town; including new advertisements, works to trees and new uses for buildings. Its officers and councillors decide whether proposals are acceptable for the borough.

Online Applications

Cheltenham Borough Council has made changes to the way applications can be made online with improvements to PublicAccess. You can now make applications for planning and building control directly through PublicAccess as well as viewing, tracking and making comments on existing applications.

 

The improvements will allow applications for:

  • Consent to Display an Advertisement
  • Planning Permission
  • Conservation Area Consent
  • Planning Permission for Householders
  • Listed Building Consent
  • Lawful Development Certificate for an Existing Use, Operation or Activity
  • Lawful Development Certificate for a Proposed Use, Operation or Activity
  • Works to Trees in a Conservation Area
  • Works to Trees subject to a Preservation Order

  • Building Notice
  • Full Plans Submission
  • Regularisation of Unauthorised Building Works
