Council tax disregards
Students
Full time students must be:
- on a qualifying course of education which is one that lasts for at least one academic year, takes at least 24 weeks a year and involves at least 21 hours per week of study
OrĀ
- under 20 years of age and studying at least 12 hours per week for at least 3 months for any further education qualification up to A-Level or equivalent
Evening classes, correspondent courses and courses undertaken in connection with employment do not count.
You will be disregarded if you are the spouse or dependent of a qualifying student, and not a British citizen, and prevented either from taking paid employment or from claiming benefits under the terms of your permission to be in the UK.Pages in Council tax disregards
