New polling station map from Cheltenham Borough Council

Residents can now go online and find their polling station, thanks to a new map on the Cheltenham Borough Council website.

The map has many interesting new features, including a postcode search facility. Residents can type their postcode into the search bar and the map will find the polling station allocated to their address.

There is also a ‘pin drop’ facility. Users can drag and drop a pin onto their location and the relevant polling station will be shown. Residents can also see which borough ward they are in and where the polling district boundaries are.

The map can be seen on the council’s website now, in time for the European and Borough elections on 22 May 2014.

Christopher Lloyd, elections assistant at Cheltenham Borough Council said: "The new map facility is good news for the May elections. People can now easily find their polling station and work out how to get there. Residents will see their designated station on their polling cards, but users can easily navigate through the map to find the location of their station.

"It’s so important that we give the people every opportunity to come and vote and the new map is a really useful tool in encouraging voters.

The ‘Polling stations’ map can be found through on the Cheltenham Borough Council website.
