The Household Recycling Centre on Swindon Road will be closed on the mornings of Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 March, and also closed on the afternoon of Thursday 7 March, to allow for essential site improvements and maintenance to the drainage system. It will reopen for business as usual on Friday 8 March.
These improvements are necessary to maintain compliance with Environment Agency regulations, site license requirements, and health and safety requirements.

Councillor Roger Whyborn said : “The work that we need to do at the depot and recycling centre is essential and we apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers.

“To keep disruption to a minimum, we are carrying out the work during our quietest times in the middle of the week. We will still be open for half days during this time, rather than completely closing for whole days.”

To help inform local residents, banners will be put up at the site and flyers will be given out. Posters will be displayed at the recycling centre and at the Municipal Offices, and the information will also be available on the council’s website and through social media at facebook  and Twitter
