A Jobs Fair, which has been organised by Cheltenham Jobcentre and Cheltenham Borough Council, is being held on Tuesday 25 June to help put jobseekers in touch with local businesses looking to recruit.

  • Tuesday 25 June, 10:30am-4pm, Municipal Offices

Leading businesses including House of Fraser, Endsleigh Insurance, Savers Retail Group and TSS Security will join public sector organisations at the fair.

Also in attendance will be a range of support organisations including Gloucestershire College Apprenticeship Team, as well as advice and guidance for those looking to start a business.

Councillor Steve Jordan, leader of Cheltenham Borough Council, said: “The Jobs Fair demonstrates that employers are still looking to recruit. Despite the difficult economic climate there are employment opportunities for those looking for work”.

Alice Welham, economic development officer at the council, added: “This is a great opportunity for job seekers to talk with businesses and community partners. We are pleased to be partnering with Jobcentre Plus and local employers to put this on.”

Catriona Murray, Employer Advisor at Cheltenham Jobcentre, commented: “We want to reach out to all members of the community and make them aware of the vacancies currently available from local employers.”

The Jobs Fair will take place between 10.30am and 4pm on Tuesday 25 June. It will be held in the Municipal Offices on the Promenade GL50 9SA. Everyone is welcome.
