There’s plenty planned at leisure@cheltenham this February half term (17-21 February) to ensure youngsters keep busy and active.

Once again the team at leisure@ are hosting a range of activities during the school holiday.

The fun kicks off on Monday 17 February with Smash Up Badminton. From 10am – 11.30am children in years 3 to 9 can have a go at big hitting badminton challenges to suit all standards. It’s a chance to play with mates with no coaching or team selection. It will cost £3.10.

Trampoline taster sessions also get underway on the Monday from 10am-11am and 11am – 12pm. They also take place on Thursday 20 February from 1:30pm-2:30pm and 2:30pm-3:30pm. This is aimed at school years 1+ and cost £7 per session.

Tuesday 18 February is action packed with a Junior Squash Coaching Session happening from 10am - 11:30am. This is for beginners of school years 3 to 8 and costs £5 per session.

In the afternoon there is Short Tennis Coaching Sessions from 2pm-2:45pm for school years 2 and 3, and a session for schools years 4, 5 and 6 from 3pm – 3:45pm. Both sessions are £5.

For something a little bit different on Tuesday Zumba Kids sessions will be happening at 2pm-2:45pm and 3pm–3:45pm. This is aimed at children aged 4 to 7 years. These sessions are £3.

Wednesday will see Junior Badminton Coaching sessions taking place for 6 to 10 year olds. The sessions run from 10am-11am and 11:15am-12:15pm and cost £5 per session.

On Thursday there is a variety of activities planned including a Table Tennis Coaching Session running from 2pm-4pm. It’s for ages 8 to 16 years and costs £10.

There’s also a Glee Themed Street Dance Sessions taking place which are bound to be Glee-tastic fun for all the Gleeks out there! These run from 2pm-3pm for school years 1 to 3 and 3pm-4pm for school years 4 to 7 and cost £3 per session.

In the teaching pool on Thursday there’s Splashing Around – a structured fun session which includes water zorbing taking place at 12:30pm for children aged 4 to 6 years and 1:30pm for children aged 7 to 10 years and costs £10 for an hour session.

From Tuesday 18 through to Friday 21 February, there will also be intensive crash courses in swimming for children, aimed at children of 4 years plus. The lessons are designed around the ASA (Amateur Swimming Association) National Teaching Plan key stages, depending on ability. The half hour lessons will take place on each of the four days, at a total cost of only £20.

Daniel Brookes, activities co-ordinator, said:  “There’s so much happening during the upcoming half term. We aim to provide a real variety of activities to appeal to all ages. There are some great sports to try out so we hope children will be tempted to try something new. I’m sure the Glee street dance session will be very popular with cheesy smiles and jazz hands!  We build a routine to perform at the end of the session and participants are welcome to come in costume.’’
