Musicians and dance acts have until this Friday, 11 April, to apply for this year’s Midsummer Fiesta on 5 July.

Performers can apply by sending in a profile, a sample of their work and a statement saying why they want to perform at Cheltenham’s largest free festival. Organisers Cheltenham Borough Council, Hesters Way Partnership and Cheltenham West End Partnership are looking for acts that keep to the fiesta’s ethos of celebrating the talents and different cultures within the local area.

Local bands and dance groups were popular with the crowds last year, with around 8,000 people descending on Montpellier gardens for the day’s entertainment. With the fiesta located in the heart of the town, it will showcase all the wonderful local entertainment Cheltenham has to offer.

Cabinet member for housing and safety, Peter Jeffries, said: “Last year’s fiesta really demonstrated the borough’s diversity and it was a great day out for all the family. I’m sure this year will be the same, and local performers can expect to be playing to crowds similar to the ones seen last year. I cannot wait to see the line-up for this year’s fiesta.”

Strategy and engagement assistant, Hannah Wright, said: “After the success of last year’s fiesta, we need Cheltenham’s finest performers to make the event a success. It’s a great opportunity for these acts to get involved in their local community, and showcase what they have to offer Cheltenham.”

Local performers can apply by emailing Andy Hayes, Entertainments lead for the Fiesta on: [email protected].
