Cheltenham Borough Council’s play development team are looking for youngsters in Cheltenham to enjoy a huge choice of exciting activities to keep them busy and active this summer holiday.

The play development team will be hosting the Balcarras Playscheme, which runs from 8.30am till 5.30/6.00pm from 23 July to 29 August. The scheme offers a variety of activities from dance, Fizz pop science, sports tournaments, craft sessions and much more to entertain the children.

The team also host trips to Bristol Zoo, Far Peak Climbing outdoor centre, Weston beach and sea life centre and Battlesports which all have spaces remaining.

Laura Loving, play development officer said: “It’s a great opportunity for young people aged between six and twelve years old to stay active over the summer holidays whilst not being at school. The Balcarras Playscheme still has spaces available to book on to, so I encourage parents to take this opportunity and get their kids involved in fun activities this summer.”

Rowena Hay, cabinet member for healthy lifestyles said: “The summer Playschemes have always been popular with parents and children in the town. Entertaining a child for the summer holidays can be difficult, but with the Playscheme they can stay active and enjoy a days play.”

To book your space on either the Playscheme or excursions please call 01242 774703 between 10am and 3pm, Monday to Friday. Booking lines close on 18 July 2014.
