Popular Christmas market returns to Promenade
Published on 17th November 2015
A wide range of festive crafts and gifts will come back to Cheltenham’s Promenade this year when the Christmas market returns on Thursday 3 December.
The familiar wooden chalets will be situated in the Promenade until Sunday 20 December, offering seasonal food, jewellery, candles, knitwear, handmade children’s toys and many other gift ideas. The market, now in its twelfth year, promises to be even more impressive with over 40 stalls and some exciting new additions. These include an extended bar with additional seating, a large swinging Schwein Bratwurst grill, herbs and spices as well as numerous new festive craft traders. With the best selection of traders, it offers an excellent opportunity for Christmas shopping with a difference.
Kevan Blackadder, Cheltenham business partnership manager, says: "There has been an enormous amount of interest from potential stallholders from far and wide in being part of the Cheltenham Christmas market this year. So much so, that the market operators Geraud could have filled a far bigger space than the Promenade allows.
"They are bringing a great mix of stalls along with some new ideas this year, which should make the market more popular than ever."
The market will be trading seven days a week from Thursday 3 December to Sunday 20 December (10am-6pm Monday to Wednesday; 10am-8pm Thursday to Saturday; and 11am-5pm on Sundays). The market is being organised by Cheltenham Borough Council, in partnership with Geraud Markets (UK) Ltd and Cheltenham Business Partnership.

The market can be found on the pedestrianised area of the Promenade.
Work to set up the market will begin from Sunday 29 November and traders will start merchandising their stalls from Wednesday 2 December.
