A two-day Italian food market, Italia in Piazza will come to Cheltenham for the first time next week.

The market will operate from 8.30am to 4pm on Friday October 21 and Saturday October 22.

There will be 17 stalls on the Promenade selling all types of fresh Italian food both sweet and savoury. It is promising a wide selection of traders offering the opportunity to take a mouth-watering tour of Italian food.

Simon Faro, founder of Italia in Piazza, continues: “Italy's passion and love for food is second to none. Discussions about how to cook pasta sauces and what goes with what start on the school playground and becomes part of the culture as you grow up.

“Italia in Piazza shares this passion and love for food. We bring you real Italian food, made in Italy, right to your neighbourhoods throughout England. When we say made in Italy we mean real Italian foods served by real Italians!

“The Italian stall holders enjoy talking and exchanging recipes with customers so make sure you visit the market when we come to town, for what hopefully will become a regular event in and around Cheltenham.”

Kevan Blackadder, Cheltenham business improvement district director (BID), said: “Italia in Piazza has been very popular in other towns and cities and it will be great to welcome this latest addition to Cheltenham’s popular market scene.”

Lorenzo De Franco, who will run a cheese stall, said: "I love sharing my passion of Italian cheeses with my customers and look forward to being in Cheltenham. I always bring new and exciting cheeses as well as the popular ones and am happy to suggest recipes that would go well with my products.”

Giacomo Grimaldi, owner of a panini stall, said: "I am always busy when visiting towns for the first time. My customers genuinely love my food and wherever I go my customers return to buy my sausages and Arancini. In Cheltenham I will also have pizzas and calzones with different filings, such as ham and mozzarella."
