The Friends of Sandford Parks would like to invite any interested volunteers to get active in the community by joining them in the park for a leaf collection.

The working party is on Saturday 26 November from 10am until 12 noon and will include a ‘tea and biscuits break’.

Interested parties should meet at the College Road entrance to Sandford Park with appropriate footwear and clothing.

The friends’ group work in partnership with the council to help maintain and enhance the park for everyone’s enjoyment. For further information about the group visit the Friends facebook page or email [email protected].

Cllr Klara Sudbury, College ward councillor, continues: “The Friends of Sandford Park are making a positive difference to the park. It would be wonderful to have more local people come along and lend a hand at the leaf collecting work party; as the saying goes ‘Many Hands Make Light Work’. Work parties such as this are a great opportunity to get active, meet new people and help keep Sandford Park special.”

Malcolm Walls, community ranger for Cheltenham Borough Council, says: “The friends’ group has done a lot in the last two years to improve the park by fundraising towards planting and petanque court project.

“As with all our friends groups, they are vital in being the eyes and ears in the park to help maintain and enhance it for everyone.”

The group also has a working party every second Thursday of each month from 9.30am until 12.30pm.
