With only 3 days to go until Stage 7 of the OVO Energy Tour of Britain comes through Cheltenham, you may be thinking about how you will travel to one of the town’s top spots to take in the action.

If you are feeling inspired, a great way to travel this Saturday (9 September) would be by bike. Additional bike racks are being put in to two key locations:

  • From 8am on the day, a bike rack (which will secure up to 200 bikes) will be available outside the front of the Town Hall for those wanting to experience the town centre atmosphere and street market. This is in addition to the various bike racks around the town centre.
  • For those travelling by two wheels to experience the action at the Pittville Park Family Zone, two racks (each taking 100 bikes) will be available on either side of Central Cross Drive.

The racks are all free of charge to use but cyclists should bring their own locks. Bikes will need to be removed by 5pm on the day.

Councillor Rowena Hay, cabinet member for finance said: ‘’I hope that residents, visitors and families of all ages will enjoy the atmosphere on the day and feel inspired to cycle. There will be so much going on all over the town and it would be great to see as many people as possible cycling to get from one piece of action to the next.’’
