The next scheduled election to take place in Cheltenham borough will be the European Parliamentary election taking place on 23 May 2019.

Cheltenham is part of the South West Region represented by six MEPs. Cheltenham residents wishing to vote, who are not yet registered, need to register to vote online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote by Tuesday 7 May 2019.

Registering to vote is easy to do and only takes a few minutes online (you will need your National Insurance number when registering).

Residents who are registered should now have received their poll cards; if residents haven’t received a poll card, they can check by calling 01242 262626.

Anyone wishing to have a postal vote, postal proxy or to make changes to an existing postal vote for the elections on Thursday 23 May must return their application form by 5pm on Wednesday 8 May.

Residents wishing to apply for a proxy vote (except for emergency proxies) should return their application form by 5pm on Wednesday 15 May. A proxy vote is having someone vote on your behalf.
