The second phase of construction at Cheltenham Enterprise Centre is well underway. Located at Enterprise Way, once completed the development will help to attract investment and boost the local economy

Working in partnership with construction company E G Carter & Co Ltd, the council as part of its estate portfolio, will by next summer be able to offer a further three units ranging from approximately 1,900 to 2,600 sqft each.

Phase one was constructed in 2008 and offers prime light industrial and trade counter space for the town. A typical commercial unit will provide clear open trade counter/industrial space with full height roller shutter door, ultrafast broadband and dedicated parking.

Councillor Rowena Hay, member for finance said: “This investment demonstrates the commitment the council has in the strength of Cheltenham’s current and future economic prospects.”

As well as encouraging business and providing new employment within the borough, the scheme will also generate rental income for the council, helping to protect key services for residents across the town.

Simon Hodges senior asset management surveyor for the council said: “It’s great to see E G Carter on site to finalise the development. These new units are going to be built to a high specification fit for the 21st Century.”

Mark Harries associate director of E G Carter & Co Ltd added: “’We are pleased to have started work on phase two of the Cheltenham Enterprise Centre. Groundworks are progressing well and we are on track to complete piling before Christmas. It will be great for the existing tenant to see the industrial park completed and ready for new tenants in summer 2020.”

The council owns an array of commercial property which is available to rent, a full list can be found www.cheltenham.gov.uk
