waste and recycling bins put out on a street

Garden waste subscriptions have now reached 19,339 in Cheltenham, an increase of 1,202 new subscribers to the scheme since the end of March or 6.6%.

To help crews manage the increase in demand for this service, a small number of households will see a change to their collection day for garden waste. Any affected residents will soon be contacted by letter over the coming week, which explains how the service will change from Monday 14 September. There are no other changes to services at this time.

The online waste and recycling tool will also be updated and available for residents to check when their garden waste will be collected.

Councillor Steve Jordan, council leader, said “The garden waste collection team have seen the significant increase in the amount of garden waste presented at kerbside since lockdown was introduced. I welcome these garden waste changes which will keep up with demand of the service, increase efficiency and enhance the quality of service provided.’’
