Unfortunately, the difficult decision has been made to cancel tomorrow’s Midsummer Fiesta: Saturday 15 July, 12noon to 9pm, Montpellier Gardens, Cheltenham.

Due to the weather forecast with thunder storms and a yellow warning for wind - with strong gusts of wind of over 40mph which could cause damage to trees, or temporary structures such as marquees, tents and inflatables - the risk to people’s safety is too great.

Due to the lead time needed to organise the event, organisers are unable to re-schedule this year; and the key providers are often booked up several months in advance.
The fiesta team is in touch with stall holders and providers by email to make arrangements for refunds of pitch fees.

Cllr Flo Clucas said ‘We are so disappointed to have to cancel this year's fiesta after the months of hard work and commitment from everyone that was due to attend, including performers, stall holders, volunteers, providers and organisers.

“However we have to make the right decision in light of the weather forecast and the disruption any bad weather could bring to the event. We must always put safety first.”

Cheltenham Borough Council, Cheltenham West End Partnership and West Cheltenham Partnership would like to thank everyone for their support and understanding.
