Unfortunately, the difficult decision has been made to cancel tomorrow’s Summer of Play fun day: Wednesday 2 August 10-2pm in Pittville Park, Cheltenham.

Due to the weather forecast of heavy rain and a yellow warning for thunderstorms - the risk to people’s safety is too great.

Unfortunately the event will not be able to be re-scheduled but residents are encouraged to look at the council’s No Child Left Behind and Visit Cheltenham websites and social media channels for other activities running throughout the summer.

Cllr Flo Clucas member for communities and safety said: ‘’We are so disappointed to have to cancel this year's Summer of Play fun day. We understand that this news will be disappointing for those who were looking forward to spending a day of fun and laughter with family and friends.

‘’However, we have to make the right decision in light of the weather forecast and the disruption any bad weather could bring to the event. We must always put safety first.

‘’We are extremely grateful to all organisations and individuals involved in the event preparation and thank them for their continued support to No Child Left Behind.

‘‘Families who have pre booked to attend via the CABs system will be contacted directly so please look out for an email.’’
