Cheltenham businesses can kickstart their net zero journey with decarbonisation audits and grants up to £5k.
Cheltenham Borough Council (CBC), in partnership with Severn Wye Energy Agency, have launched the CheltenhamZero Carbon reduction audit fund – offering tailored reports, detailing guidance on carbon reduction and energy efficiency measures specific to individual businesses. This project is part funded by UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
The eligibility to apply for a Carbon Reduction Report is to be an organisation signed up to the Cheltenham Zero membership, have a registered premises within Cheltenham and contribute 20% match funding for the cost of the report (approximately between £130-£300 depending on type of report), working with Severn Wye Energy Agency.
There is no end date for this offer, however it is available on a first come, first serve basis. More details and full application criteria are available on the Cheltenham Zero website.
Cheltenham Borough Council is also excited to announce the Cheltenham Zero Business Fund will be launched in July 2025, offering grants of up to £5,000 to local businesses for energy efficiency projects. Grants will be awarded for capital projects delivering energy efficiency improvements and carbon reduction. This project is funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Criteria to apply for these grants will include a carbon reduction plan, that will inform which energy efficiency projects are best suited for an organisation, based on technical advice and expertise.
