leisure@cheltenham has joined the Health Club Awards which recognises the best value clubs based on research conducted through members around the country.

The scheme measures the quality of customer service and facilities by asking customers to rate the clubs that they are members of.

As Simon Brown, managing director of Awards for Business which owns and runs the scheme explained: "Belonging to a good health club is a rewarding experience.  Members probably spend more time there than they realise and it's become an integral part of their lifestyle.  Providing them with a haven from their frantic day to day existence and at the same time helping them to tackle life in a healthier, more productive way.

''For the club it's not easy to get every aspect just right.  It requires a lot of hard work and a belief that members should have a rewarding experience every time they visit the club.

''Through the Health Club Awards we will find out which clubs are providing the most rewarding member experience.  We will recognise those clubs for their excellence and ultimately find out which are providing the best experience and membership value across the country."

Stephen Petherick, commercial manager for leisure@cheltenham added: "We are very proud of the level of service we provide all our customers.  We believe we offer excellent value for money and access to a range of goods and services that no other clubs in the area can offer. Our inclusive and accessible approach gives us uniqueness locally and this scheme is a great way to prove it."
