Help is at hand for Gloucestershire residents who want to own their own home, thanks to a regional roadshow taking place in Cheltenham this month.

The Cheltenham Affordable Home Ownership Event is being held at the towns’ Municipal Offices on Thursday 29 March and will offer advice and information to couples and families about buying a first home.

HomeBuy is a Government initiative set up to help those with a household income of under £60,000 buy their first home and representatives from South West Homes will be on hand at the event to talk to and discuss options with.

Graham Phillips, HomeBuy Manger for South West Homes said: "This is the perfect opportunity for people to get on the housing ladder – if you would like to buy your own home, but cannot afford the full price, you can buy a share of between 25% and 80%.

"This roadshow will offer a range of useful advice and information, will show you the type of homes that are available and give you the chance to register your interest."

The roadshow will start at 1pm and continue until 7pm at the Municipal Offices on the Promenade, Cheltenham.

The Cheltenham event is one of a series of regional roadshows in the south-west region. The tour last visited Cheltenham in January 2010 and was hugely successful.
