On Sunday 22 April people will have the opportunity to descend 168ft from the top of Cheltenham’s tallest building - Eagle Tower.
- Deadline extended to 18 April
This unforgettable experience is in aid of the Mayors Charities: The National Star College, Cheltenham YMCA and St. Vincents and St. Georges Association. Its not too late to register, as the deadline has been extended until 18 April.
Registration is just £25 and with 3 people able to abseil at the same time, the event can be a fantastic team building exercise for work colleagues, a fun experience for the family or a bundle of laughs for a group of friends. The event is open to everyone and gives people the opportunity to do something amazing, to overcome their fears, or to experience something new, and at the same time raise money for 3 incredible charities.
The hope is that each participant raises a sponsorship total of £75 each in order to help the most vulnerable people in Cheltenham.
Erin Davies, organiser of the event, said: Weve decided to extend the deadline to give more people the opportunity to take part. Its set to be a thrilling day which we hope will raise a huge amount of money for the mayor's charities.
The Mayor, Councillor Barbara Driver, said: This is a fun day for the whole family, you can take part, cheer on those who are, or enjoy all the other things going on round the Eagle Tower building that day. All while raising money for so many young people in Cheltenham.
Upon registration you will receive an abseil pack, complete with the time of your abseil and order of the days event which will include a full safety briefing.
If you would like to get involved, or know someone who does, then please contact Erin on 01242 775144 for a registration form or email. Alternatively you can download a registration form from the councils website. You can also visit Facebook and Twitter to keep up to date with information.
