Cheese stall at the continental market in 2010

Cheltenham’s street market returns to Cheltenham on Thursday for five days.

  • Thursday 3 May – Monday 7 May
  • Long Gardens, Promenade, Cheltenham

Returning for the eighth time, this year will see an international feel to the market, which will offer more variety, new flavours and different crafting techniques.

With 20 stalls alongside the Long Gardens in front of the Municipal Offices, it will feel like a trip around the world from Turkish Baklavas, baked on site Belgian macaroons, fresh French Viennoiserie to Kenyan fair-trade trinkets, surprising Caribbean dishes as well as Peruvian Alpaca and woollen clothing. There will also be stalls selling a range of crêpes, paella, breads and cheeses.

The market will open from 10am until 5.30pm on each of the five days.

Martin Quantock, manager of Cheltenham Business Partnership, said: "The market is now becoming a regular feature in Cheltenham's calendar and draws many visitors to the town centre from near and far. It is so popular now that we have decided to add more variety by including stalls from around the world. It will be fun and colourful and everyone should find something suitable for their tastes. The international feel will add to Cheltenham’s offering for shopping and tourist attractions.”

The market has been co-ordinated by Geraud Markets, which also puts on Cheltenham’s Christmas market.
