Watery Earth from space

Cheltenham Borough Council has joined forces with Spirax Sarco, Severn Wye Energy Agency, Gloucestershire College and Vision 21 to organise a free local business event.

The event is about how to reduce the cost of heating buildings. It will take place on Wednesday 30th May at Pittville Pump Room from 9.00am.

There is a sound business case for tackling heating issues and implementing solutions, no matter how big or small, and this event will showcase how businesses can save money, save energy and reduce carbon emissions.

Speakers will cover a range of topics from simple, no and low-cost solutions to help manage  heating to considering the relative efficiencies of conventional and renewable heating systems and what is appropriate in different types of buildings. A series of workshops will also provide specific advice for small businesses, look at how thermal imaging can help businesses make changes and demonstrate how monitoring and measuring energy use can save money. There will also be case studies from local organisations that have tackled their heating issues and benefited from implementing solutions.

This event is free for all businesses in Gloucestershire, but pre-booking is essential. To register your interest please contact Gill Morris at Cheltenham Borough Council on 01242 264229, or gill.morris@cheltenham.gov.uk.

This event has been made possible by Cheltenham Low Carbon Partnership, which brings together a number of large, local organisations to work on reducing carbon emissions. The Partnership is funded by Cheltenham Borough Council.

The full heating event timetable is available at the Cheltenham Partnership website.
