Multi-agency support for rough sleepers

Cheltenham Borough Council is working collaboratively with Gloucestershire police, statutory and third sector partners to offer support to rough sleepers. This includes extensive support, and efforts to engage with, occupants of tents in areas including Cheltenham town centre. Nationally, rough sleeping figures have reached a record high, and Cheltenham, like many other urban areas is not immune to these challenges....

Cheltenham Festival racegoers asked to book their private hire vehicles ahead for convenience and safety. As Cheltenham’s renowned four-day racing festival kicks off Tuesday 10 March to Friday 13 March, the town is set to welcome thousands of racegoers. Cheltenham Borough Council and Tewkesbury Borough Council are advising visitors to pre-book private hire vehicles (taxis) to ensure they have transport for their safety, if not travelling by public transport....

Parking in the Town Centre East council-run car park will be free of charge from Tuesday 10 to Friday 13 March 2026 inclusive - for customers parking from 12pm until 8pm - during Cheltenham Festival. The ‘Pop to Cheltenham’ initiative is designed in partnership with Cheltenham BID and Cheltenham Chamber of Commerce to encourage local shoppers to visit the town centre during Cheltenham Festival, providing support to local retailers and businesses....
