Cheltenham Borough Council is a multi-award winning local authority with a strong place shaping role. On the back of a positive LGA/PAS peer review, we are seeking to appoint two dynamic roles to lead the council’s award-winning planning service at what is an incredibly exciting time for the town.
Our ambitious corporate plan presents huge opportunities for the town and our role in driving forward economic growth. This role will be pivotal in helping us achieve our outcomes and placing Cheltenham and Gloucestershire on the map as a place to come and do business, to study, to live and to visit. And with a number of high profile, transformative but also challenging projects, there is a significant opportunity for you to make a real difference.
Being the council’s principal specialists, set within the context of our ambitious place making agenda, you will play a key role in shaping Cheltenham; balancing the strong emphasis on growth with the need to conserve and enhance Cheltenham’s rich cultural, biodiversity and heritage offer, in the light of the council’s ambition to make the borough carbon neutral by 2030.
