Standing as a candidate
Nomination packs will be available to collect from the electoral services office in March 2021. Please contact the office on 01242 264132 or email@example.com to arrange an appointment.
Completed nomination papers will need to be hand delivered to the Municipal Offices, Promenade, Cheltenham between 10am - 4pm from Monday 29 March. Appointments will need to be made for informal checks and submission of papers. We strongly advise an informal check and delivery of papers to be carried out as early as possible. The deadline for delivery is 4pm on Thursday 8 April 2021.
The Electoral Commission have launched a survey asking for feedback on campaigning queries regarding Covid-19.
You must meet certain criteria in order to stand as a candidate for public office. You can find the relevant candidate guidance for each type of election, as published by the Electoral Commission below.
- Parish Council elections.
- Local government elections (covering Cheltenham Borough and Gloucestershire County Council).
- Gloucestershire Police and Crime Commissioner election.
