Renewal of existing licence

The licence renewal form is shorter than the new licence application form.

Material changes

You will only be able to use the renewal form if no material changes have occurred to the property. Please read the list of what we consider to be material changes.

If any other changes have occurred to the property, you will need to state these in the text box at the end of the form.

Completing the application

To complete the licence renewal application form, you will need your licence and renewal reference numbers. Examples of these are:

  • Licence reference number: 16/000/HMO
  • Renewal Reference: O6P4TPWL0CE00

These will be displayed in your licence renewal reminder which will be emailed to you two months before your licence expiry date.

You will be able to renew your licence using the renewal form from two months before to your licence expiry date. If you don't renew your licence by its expiry date, you will not be able to use the renewal application form and will need to complete the new licence application form to renew your licence.

Cost

The current renewal licence fee is £630 for a three year licence.

Additional fees may be payable in the case of incomplete, invalid or incorrect applications.

Renew online

Renew an existing HMO licence or download the renewal application form.

Be aware that if you apply for a licence online, you will need to make the payment to complete the application.  If you download the application form you can make the payment online.
