Feed Cheltenham

#FeedCheltenham started in response to the Covid pandemic in March 2020. Since then, we have grown to coordinate the delivery of food provision across Cheltenham. #FeedCheltenham aims to alleviate food poverty across Cheltenham associated with Covid-19 lockdown and its aftereffects of reduced income through furlough, job losses and illness as well as now supporting those through the cost-of-living crisis.

#FeedCheltenham has brought together over 30 community-based organisations across the town in response to emergency needs resulting from the C-19 pandemic. These include Cheltenham Foodbank, Food pantries, local schools, charities and churches. By working through trusted partners already networked into their local communities we can identify real cases of hardship that might otherwise go unnoticed. Each partner promotes #FeedCheltenham to their communities and refers people in need through the network. It has supported thousands of people across Cheltenham in food poverty and will continue to do so as the cost-of-living continues to increase.

Cheltenham Housing Aid Centre

Cheltenham Housing Aid Centre is an independent charity that has been working for over thirty years to provide free housing advice and support services to the people of Cheltenham, who are homeless, or at risk of losing their home.

With a dedicated team comprising of fully qualified advisers and volunteers CHAC aids with matters relating to a range of housing issues to anyone who is homeless; in supported housing; staying with friends or family; in a council, housing association or private rental property.  Staff help clients to find accommodation, prevent the loss of their home and assist with getting furnishings and other essential household items.

Help can take the form of providing representation at supported housing allocation panels, challenging a local authority homeless or waiting list decision, negotiating with a landlord with regards to rent arrears, court representation and applying for, or challenging housing benefit decisions.
