Maggie's

Maggie’s in Cheltenham provides free support for anyone living with cancer, their family and friends, whatever kind of cancer, and whatever stage they’re at, offering a unique programme of support that has been shown to strengthen physical and emotional wellbeing.  We know that with a cancer diagnosis, people need much more than just medical treatment. Maggie’s in Cheltenham is a place where we help people take back control when cancer turns life upside down with professional support for anything from treatment side effects to money worries.  It is also a place to go where you can meet and talk to people who are going through something similar. All of our support is free and you don't need an appointment or referral – just come in.

Cotswold Riding for the Disabled

Cotswold Riding for the Disabled offers a variety of riding and non-riding activities to more than 160 children and adults living with a disability, in a supportive and safe environment. It has a herd of 14 very special ponies. They have been based in the heart of Cheltenham Racecourse since 1982.  It is one of the largest RDA Groups in the country, with excellent facilities. It is recognised for its innovative and creative approach.  It has recently been awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. This is the highest accolade given for volunteering and is known as the ‘MBE for Volunteers’.  Riding with CRDA not only improves the physical and mental well-being of the riders but enhances quality of life. The same is equally true of the volunteers who, besides learning new skills, gain a sense of affirmation and belonging.
