Our approach to performance management

Performance management is a critical element of the council's management processes.

We are committed to a joined-up approach to performance management. This involves members and employees working together to ensure that the council keeps delivering on the issues that matter most to local people and keeps on improving the quality of services at all levels. Our performance management system helps us to identify what does and doesn't work and what the factors are that support or hinder economic, efficient and effective service delivery.  

Each year we publish our annual corporate strategy that sets out the key actions the council will take in the forthcoming year. In the following June, the council produces an annual report which documents how well the council has performed against the business plan.
