Alcohol, entertainment and late night refreshment licences

There are various licences available:

Premises licence

This allows you to:

• sell or supply alcohol
• provide entertainment or entertainment facilities
• provide hot food and drink between 11pm and 5am

Personal licence

This allows you to:

• authorise the sale or supply of alcohol

Club premises certificate

Authorises a members club to carry out the following activities:

• supply alcohol to club members
• provide entertainment or entertainment facilities
• provide hot food between 11pm and 5am

Temporary event notice

This allows:

• licensable activities to take place on a premises that does not have a premises licence. This is effective on a temporary basis and limits the number and duration of events.

All four licences were introduced in the Licensing Act 2003
