Safer food, better business packs

All food operators must have a food safety management system in place.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) have created 'Safer food, better business' which is a practical approach to food safety management. It has been developed to help small catering and retail businesses such as restaurants, cafes, takeaways and shops comply with food safety regulations introduced in January 2006. You can download the pack for free from the FSA website or buy a printed pack from us.

You can purchase either a caterer, retailer or 12 month diary refill pack from the council.  We will always provide you with the latest version.

Caterer pack - for small catering businesses such as restaurants, cafés and takeaways that have registered with the council as a food business.

Retailer pack - for small retail businesses that have registered with the council as a food business, and that sell food, including any food that needs to be kept cold to keep it safe, e.g. milk, dairy products, cooked meats, salads, desserts or sandwiches.

How to order

Please send an email to envhealth@cheltenham.gov.uk to request a pack, stating whether you would like the caterer or retailer pack or 12 month diary refill. Please include: which pack you require, your name, preferred method of contact (phone or email) and the address to be posted to (if applicable). We will email you back with all the necessary details.
