Paws in the Park 2016
Paws in the Park Cheltenham returns to Pittville Park again this year in front of the pump room on Sunday 7 August from 11am until 5pm.
This year we have over 75 pet related stands attending ranging from both local and national charities raising money for their causes, businesses selling dog accessories such as collars and leads, dog toys, canine massage and even a few treats.
Cotswold Canine Athletics are returning with have a go hurdles, terrier racing and LG Agility will be entertaining the crowd with a display of heelwork to music. Little Paws, local trainer and behaviourist, will be carrying out the Kennel Club Bronze Good Citizen test for both dog and owner to achieve, so could you and your pooch pass the test?
Cotswold Pet Services will be carrying out a number of informative workshops about the need to control dogs around farm animals. They will also be holding drop in appointments with their animal behaviourist to allow owners to ask questions on their pet’s behaviour.
Jayne James, community and education vet nurse from PDSA, will also be giving a talk on “canine communication”, talks that Jayne regularly visits schools with to educate children about dog safety by recognising what they are telling them through the dog’s body language.
Novelty dog show
Along with all the activities, the hugely popular novelty dog show will be taking place from 12noon and registration for the show is from 11am. Has your dog got the 'Waggiest Tail', the 'Most Appealing Eyes' or are they your 'Child's Best Friend'?
For the owners we have glitter tattoos, bouncy castles, face painting, fairground games and refreshments to name but a few.
