Allotment provision
In recent years, there has been a huge increase in demand for allotments, following a national trend and reflecting a large amount of media interest in vegetable growing at home and on allotments. At one time, it was estimated that the wait for allotments at some sites could exceed 7 years. The council produced a summary of Allotment provision.
Since that time, interest has dropped off somewhat and waiting lists have fallen. Most applicants are now waiting less than a year for an allotment and for some it is a few weeks only, depending on the site and the time of year.
