Habitat improvements

The west side of the park is undergoing some habitat enhancements.

Planting of 3 copse native trees and extensive cornfield flower species areas are being established on the west side of Tommy Taylors Lane.

Species of trees include seeds and fruit bearers for wildlife to benefit from.

Other improvements to this area includes the reducing of the undulations in the ground close to the road. This will provide an area for small scale special events to be held.

These improvements include a large area on the former pitch and putt facility being sown with a cornfield mix of wildflowers. The species have been selected to compliment the surroundings and be appealing to many species   including pollinating insects and birds.

Other projects for the west area of the park include the creation of solitary bee nesting sites and future planting areas of wildflowers.
