Privacy statement for survey of disabled people’s experiences of using licensed taxis

Why we collect information about you

We are currently reviewing aspects of its vehicle licensing policy. As part of the review process, we want to hear from people with a range of disabilities to understand their experiences of using taxis and private hire vehicles in Cheltenham. This information is particularly relevant to our plans to increase the amount of fully wheelchair accessible licensed vehicles.

What information do we collect about you?

When you respond to the survey, we collect the following personal information from you:

  1. Your full name
  2. Where you live
  3. Data concerning health

Special category data

Data concerning your health is considered special category data. You can read about how we will process this data and the lawful basis for this below under “Who do we share this information with?”.

Who do we share this information with?

The survey results will be shared with elected members who is responsible for decision making in relation to licensing policy. However, the survey results shared will be entirely anonymised and will represent an overview of responses received. No individual(s) will be identifiable.

Officers employed by the authority’s licensing section will have access to the full personal data outlined above (“What information do we collect about you?”) for the purpose of processing this information in order to present the findings of the survey to elected members.

In the event of the authority facing a legal challenge to a decision it has made, we may be required to disclose information about you as part of those legal proceedings.

The lawful basis for processing special category data is your explicit consent when submitting this survey.

Is there any information transferred to or stored on servers based outside the European Economic Area?

No.

How long do we keep your information?

We will store copies of your survey response for six months.

In the event of the authority facing a legal challenge to a decision it has made, we will keep copies for as long as is necessary for the purpose of these proceedings.

Who do we collect information from?

We collect information from individuals and/or organisation that respond to the survey.

Are any decisions about you made by automatic means?

No.
